Description
Red Rock Ranch is nestled snugly in the scenic and picturesque Wasatch Mountains. It is where it has sat for the past 155 years as one of northern Utah's oldest cattle ranches. Besides being drenched in the sweat and history of many a cowboy, the ranch is also known for its vast variety of wildlife and delicious cowboy cooking in its country cafe.
The Red Rock Ranch is a real working cattle ranch complete with cattle drives for the public. The ranch is home to mountain lions, mule deer, bob cats, red fox, moose, elk, wild turkeys, sand hill cranes, bald eagles, golden eagles and many other species of wildlife.
The Ranch was homesteaded in the 1850's by the Allen family. It is located about 8 miles east of the town of Huntsville, Utah and 20 miles east of Ogden, Utah, in what is known as the "Upper Ogden Valley." The Ranch is nestled among the red rock cliffs of the South fork canyon where the Beaver Creek meets the South Fork River on highway 39 and the turn off to Causey Dam. It was here that the Native Americans wintered. When the fields are tilled there are still remnants of their history at the ranch area. From the front porch of the cafe you can see Snowbasin Ski Resort where part of the 2002 Winter Olympic games were held.
