No personal website is complete without a self-aggrandizing, ego-massaging “About me” section. Naturally, mine is no exception. I’ll won’t try to keep it brief, because I’m not so foolish as to actually think that I would succeed in accomplishing that.
I’ve had my blog for quite a while. I guess I started a Xanga thing back a few years ago — back then they were just called journals. Then I moved to blogger.com, and then I registered my own domain just this past February when I got out of the hospital. I’ve had a few domains in the last 6 or 7 years or so. My first one was silly — I paid way too much from Network Solutions (Netfuck Solutions), and I chose a crappy webhost and domain name. Anyway, since then I’ve learned a few things.
I never really cared much about blogging or the people who wrote them. Indeed, even now I think the whole so-called “blogosphere” is overrated, despite being an active participant in it. Maybe the online press just gives it too much attention, hence my disenchantment with the whole idea. I write in it because I have built up a steady audience of real-life friends and Internet acquaintances. It’s an outlet for my frustration and rage at some things (perhaps you read the rant about my school?), things I find funny, frustrating… anything. It’s also the home to my “real” writing — which are the things that I think about quite a lot.
