- Started with support from the Dekalb County Board of Health, World Relief, and local community members, Sagal Radio empowers new Americans to overcome the language barrier and utilize information to become healthy, active, and informed members of their communities. Initially broadcast once a week for two hours, the program received rave reviews from the community. Listeners tuned in eagerly for news from their home country, health announcements, and discussions on local issues. Since that time, we have incorporated as a nonprofit, and we are in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status. Today, our primary source of funding comes from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and we have expanded to broadcasting three, two-hour programs per week.
