Sarbkar Northwest was set up 16 years ago when brothers Tony and Russell Standish started working on an idea to develop ways and means whereby SAAB owners could afford to run and drive SAAB motor cars.
They service and repair SAABs and provide new and used parts at affordable prices, in fact every aspect of SAAB service and maintenance is catered for. In their Mum and Dad's back garden they developed the idea of breaking up SAABs, rebuilding them back up to scratch, and selling reconditioned second hand parts. Advertising initially in a small way, people came and bought the parts from them since they were cheaper than a SAAB main dealer. As time went on they were doing so much business that they didn't have enough time to do their full time jobs. Tony a Service Engineer with Liverpool's local SAAB dealer, Mayfield garage, and Russell as a local postman. So, after some consideration, they decided to leave their full time employment and continue what started out as a great hobby and now appeared to be a fabulous new business opportunity.
In Speke, Liverpool 24, at unit 15 Woodend Avenue Industrial Estate, they set up Sarbkar Northwest, Liverpool's largest Independent SAAB Specialists, and placed advertisements in the local Merseymart and Liverpool Echo to promote the new venture. They knew that it would be difficult to set up a business but because the cost of repairing a SAAB was so high they realised they could cut dealer prices, making it cheaper for their customers and still make a profit themselves.
