pulled from site's meta description

The Sports Complex Special Services District, or SCSSD for short, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that serves approximately 9,000 residents living in 4,100 households surrounding the Sports Complex venues in South Philadelphia. SCSSD was established in 2002 and began active operations in March of 2003. In 2001, the three sports venue operators — Comcast-Spectacor, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Eagles — committed a combined $1 million annual contribution (with annual CPI adjustment) to fully fund SCSSD efforts and address the unique needs of South Philadelphia residents living in close proximity to an active, world-class Sports Complex. SCSSD is the only such district in the nation created for community benefit and financed entirely by local sports teams.
