- Shawnee Crisis Pregnancy Centers opened in January 1980 in Carbondale by a group of concerned individuals who wanted to help those facing an untimely pregnancy. In 1989, the agency opened its Marion extension office. With the help from a grant from the United Parcel Service, our Anna office opened in August of 2000.
