Description

Excerpted from the website description:

We thank you for visiting us! We offer a variety of unique gift items not found in stores. A few are handcrafted right here in the USA! Our business is family owned and operated. Our goal is to pleasantly serve all of our customers. Have you ever heard of the Marianas Trench? How about the Mariana Islands where the battle of Saipan took place? Or maybe you have heard of the Navajo Code Talkers who were very instrumental during WWII in the pacific? Possibly you have heard of the islands of Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and Guam to name a few? If so, great! You will know what we are talking about. If you have not, these beautiful islands in the Pacific Ocean comprise of crystal clear, pristine water which is great for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving or boating, warm weather year round, and some of the friendliest people you would ever meet! We speak of these islands highly because this is where 5 of 6 of our Southwest Island Style’s founders came from. The Southwest (Arizona in particular) is Home to our 6th founder. The Southwest is now home to all 6 of us. It has been a pleasure to meet up with our family and friends who have moved here to the states from the islands and of course, our family and friends that we have right here in the USA as well. Here is a little history of New Mexico. New Mexico borders Arizona, Colorado and Texas. Yes, we are part of the USA and No, you DO NOT need a passport to enter and Yes, we use US currency! New Mexico became home to us when we moved here from Saipan in 1996 & 2000. We enjoy the native cultures and traditions of the Spanish, Mexican, Native Americans and various other cultures and traditions here in New Mexico because they have a similar feel to our culture and tradition of the Chamorro people. New Mexico is home to the Red and Green chile peppers (yum!), Fry bread which is a popular native American dish, sopapillas, a New Mexican favorite, and also the yearly International Balloon Fiesta held the first week of October every year with hundreds of different shapes and sizes of hot air balloons filling the blue New Mexico sky, the list goes on because there is so much more to see and do that this state has to offer you! We feel at home here because of the multi cultures we experience and just like on the islands you have the native New Mexicans who are some of the friendliest, down to earth people you will ever meet. We came up with Southwest Island Style to bring a little of both cultures (the southwest and the islands) to you where ever you are. Please keep in mind that we are constantly updating our website with new, additional products so please be sure to visit us often and for an added convenience we use Paypal! God Bless all of our Armed Forces men and women who are proudly serving, and who have proudly served our country overseas! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families! We thank you for visiting southwestislandstyle.com and we also want to thank our new and returning customers for your patronage and continued support!
