Description
On December 27, 1979, the Superstition Mountain Historical Society was formed. The first temporary board was established in January of 1980. The Superstition Mountain Historical Society received both its Certificate of Incorporation from the state of Arizona and its 501(c)(3) Nonprofit status in March of 1980. At its annual meeting in June of 1980, a permanent board was established.
The Society acquired a large collection of mining ore cars and Phelps Dodge donated sixty tons of historic mining equipment, including several train engines.
Join the Superstition Mountain Historical Society and help us build the new museum building at the base of Superstition Mountain. Membership privileges include Newsletters, the SMHS Journal, free admission to the museum and business members have their logo and link to their web site placed here.
