Description
The business was started in 1962 by Dave Burr and his father in law Reg Banks who both realised that a retail shop could just about survive selling tackle if it was done properly. After a slow start things began to happen after Dave won the national angling championship on the River Huntspill in 1965 landing a new British record
weight of 76lb 9oz. This was to remain in the Guinness book of records for over 20 years. The following year Dave captained the England team on the river Thurne in Norfolk.
The business grew steadily over the next twenty or so years and and with the addition of well known trout angler Brian Froggatt they could offer help and advice on most aspects of the sport.
