A native of Great Britain, Mary Elizabeth has always appreciated the art of the tea party and the wonderful tradition of drinking tea.
In 1983, Mary Elizabeth realized a life-long ambition when she opened her British Gift Shop and Tea Room in Annapolis, Maryland. After many successful years, Mary Elizabeth moved to Virginia and founded "Things British, Ltd." Set in an old school house with a beautiful nursery garden, customers came to sample Mary Elizabeth's scones.
After moving to Tucson, Arizona, Mary Elizabeth's interest in tea was as strong as ever. Pima Community College invited Mary Elizabeth to teach a variety of courses on the history of tea and tea etiquette.
