Jon and Sukanjana Boagey met in 1989 while working in the Lao refugee camps of north-east Thailand, got married, had children and eventually returned to England in 1995. Thai-uk.org started in 2001 through a general frustration with British stereotypes of Thailand and Thai people and a desire to bring up our three children so that they valued their Thai heritage in the face of the dominant UK culture.
Thai-uk is a voluntary effort but we are very grateful for support from a number of sources and particularly from Krongtong and Panyupa Chuaiprasit and Kanokwan Tumsaroj for their help in compiling information.
