- Donald Rose was born in a log cabin (if by "log cabin" one means "hospital") not so long ago (a few decades, give or take) in a galaxy far, far away (if one considers New York City a galaxy, and let's face it, it is). At his Florida high school, Don ended Senior Year by writing and anchoring a WeekendUpdate-style news sketch that poked fun of every member of Senior Class -- then gave a Salutatorian graduation speech that incorporated rock lyrics (what was he smoking?). After winning a National Merit Scholarship to the University of Florida, he eventually graduated as an Econ major with Math minor, was invited to join Phi Beta Kappa, blah blah blah.
