Description
Since I started learning computers in 1995 due to pressure of computers taking over jobs at the place I worked, I found that people like me needed help with thier computers as I did while I was learning and I pitched in where I could to help them with thiers.
The main place I helped at back then was at VOP http://www.voiceofthepublic.com which has since been reborn but is not the same site as it was back then.
Steve Gibson then started his OptOut program/utility and he "enlightened" the internet users of what we now call spyware and other names, before we called them uninvited problems and removed most manually. Steve Gibson retired his OptOut program and told users to seek out Urizen's (Nicholas Stark) AdAware program which was in it's infancy at the time but was a viable program. At the time, VOP hosted help forums to aid in the betterment of AdAware, then there was a rift betweeen AdAware and the owners of VOP. Lavasoft created thier own forums and site at that time.
