Many features what most message boards such as EZBoard.com, HyperBoards.com or ProBoards.com lacks is a build in feature for profile storage or addable fields to profiles without the help of a code.

Unique Features

Going into detail on the 'Recycle Bin' feature. If you delete a page or topic, you can go to the recylce bin in the admin panel to view all deleted topics/posts and choose to restore them. Comes in handy if you made a mistake. But some may play it as a prank now.
Headers/Footers for each skin is unique and has been asked among many large communities and still hasn't been added. Virtual Forums knocked it down in it's first version.
Gradient Generator is also very unique as most forums require you to use CSS to add gradients if you don't want it a solid color. Virtual Forums takes this a step above offering a 'fade' feature which is hard to beat and will give graphic designers more time to focus on other parts of the forums instead of the basic gradients.
