File:Westlake Films.jpg Westlake Films is a non-profit group of friends in Northern England which produces fantastic award winning films and audio productions. Under a couple of other names (JMKH Productions and Westlake Enterprises), Westlake Films has been making videos or audio work since 1992, funded by individuals who commission the scripts, manage the productions and maintain the website.
Videos
The Westlake Site is a showcase of various filming styles and genres which include science fiction, comedy, art, drama and documentary. This pragmatic diversity has enabled Westlake to branch out and make films regardless of their various audiences, thus ensuring that the Westlake site benefits from a wider spread of visitors.
The Westlake Site has recently undergone a redesign with a new design to some of the download pages as well as improved graphics throughout. The site is continually being updated with new looks, thus allowing the site to adapt and remain relevant to the expectations of the visitors without the onset of stagnation.
Also, our range of award winning films continues to increase with Deconstruction securing a Silver in from the British Institute of Amateur Film and Blind Date, which received a Commended Award from the IAC (entry below). Westlake will continue to enter various competitions as a means of extending our award winning portfolio as well as our scope.
Tours
To increase our viewing audience, Westlake Films also conduct tours of the North of England with a programme of our most popular films. These tours are mainly carried out in Film Festivals, IAC Affiliated Groups or Science Fiction Conventions. The films shown to the IAC Clubs include Memories of the Mill, "The First Step, and Help Wanted whilst the Science Fiction Communities will be shown Deconstruction and Star Trek vs Doctor Who Redux'.
Awards
Westlake is a member of the Institute of Amateur Cinematographers (IAC) and have gained awards for the films produced in various international and domestic competitions. These include Silver and Gold as well as many Commended Certifications.
