Title

Windham Performing Arts music and drama community theater

Description

Founded in 1998, WPA was established in order to provide a community theater group to the residents of Windham, Salem and surrounding towns. Eight years later, WPA is honored to have people travel from as far as Atkinson, Manchester, and Andover to perform in its productions.

WPA is a non-profit community theater group that relies on generous donations and advertising sponsorship from neighborhood businesses in order to bring productions such as “Annie”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Guys and Dolls”, “South Pacific”, “Bye Bye Birdie”, “Plaza Suite”, and this year’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” to the stage at the Adams Memorial Opera House in Derry, New Hampshire.

Director and Producer Ginger Borase has been an integral part of WPA since its inception. Under her direction, WPA performs a musical every spring with a cast that ranges in age from eight to eighty. In order to offer larger, more prominent roles to their talented young actors, WPA expanded in December of 2004 to include the Windham Performing Arts Youth Performers. Produced by Ginger and directed by Lori Georgy, the WPA Youth Performers. Comprised solely of children ages 8-16, opened with “Anne of Green Gables” its first year, and “Alice in Wonderland” in 2005.
