John D. "Rusty" Meador is President and Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Publishing Company, Publisher for World Oil. He joined the company in 1987 as Mid-continent District Manager of advertising sales. Under previous ownership, he served as Vice President and Director. He has 27 years of publishing and oil/gas industry experience. Meador has been a petroleum landman and vice-president of operations for an independent oil company. He is a member of NOMADS, the Business Marketing Association and is a Certified Business Communicator. He currently serves as Secretary of the National Ocean Industries Association. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University.
Alexandra Pruner joined Gulf Publishing in April 2002. Based in Houston, Ms. Pruner oversees the company’s new business initiatives, including technical conferences, executive roundtables and select sponsored publishing. She also has management responsibility for the company’s Software and Video Division, circulation function and the Gulf Research division. During her 20-year career, Ms. Pruner has gained strong experience in the oil and gas industry, having served as VP of Marketing for an energy ecommerce company as well as the Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for upstream and downstream companies. Ms. Pruner also served as Vice President of Corporate Affairs for the investment banking firm Shearson Lehman Brothers at the company’s headquarters in New York. Active in industry and community efforts, Ms. Pruner serves on the Houston Advisory Board for the World Energy Cities Partnership. She is also currently serving on the Development Committee for The Awty International School in Houston and the Executive Committee for the South Campus Redevelopment Program. Ms. Pruner earned a BA in Economics from Brown University in 1983.
