Title

You’re Not Stupid: Get the Truth: A Brief on the Bush Presidency

Description

For over 40 years, William Cox has vigorously pursued a career in law enforcement, public policy and the law. As a police officer, he was a leader in the movement to professionalize law enforcement, writing the “Policy Manual” of the Los Angeles Police Department and the introductory chapters of the Police Task Force Report of the National Advisory Commission on Criminal Justice Standards and Goals, which defined the role of the police in America. As an attorney, he worked for the U.S. Department of Justice to implement national standards and goals, prosecuted for the Los Angeles County District Attorney, and operated an investigative law practice primarily dedicated to the defense of young people. Professionally, he volunteered pro bono services in two landmark cases. In 1981, he represented a Jewish survivor of Auschwitz and investigated and successfully sued a group of radical right-wing organizations who deny the Holocaust. The case was later the subject of the Turner Network Television motion picture, Never Forget. He also represented an “undisclosed client” and arranged the publication of almost 1,800 photographs of ancient manuscripts, which had been hidden from the public for over 40 years. A Facsimile Edition of the Dead Sea Scrolls was published in November 1991. He is currently a Senior Deputy Trial Counsel for the State Bar of California, where he prosecutes attorneys who commit crimes and serious misconduct.
