NHS East of England was established on 1 July 2006 as the Strategic Health Authority for the east of England, covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. NHS East of England is the regional headquarters of the NHS, and provides strategic leadership to all NHS organisations across the six counties.
