See IT! Web Design and IT Consultancy, Dublin Ireland.
Description
Basically Style Sheets allow us to completely seperate the content of a web site from the web site structure. The style sheet specifies how a web page looks on screen, in print or perhaps how it is pronounced.
This means that the document looks great in a browser that supports Style Sheets and will still look fine in a browser that doesn't. In todays age of web-enabled phones and when you are trying to make your web pages truly accessable this is a big advantage.
It also means that web sites build around Style Sheets are easy to maintain and easy to understand. If you want to update a site, then you don't need to worry about breaking the thousands of tags that WYSWIG (graphical) editors seem to insert into web pages.
