[[Image:Google.gif|left|175px]] Google.com is a search engine, with an innovative approach to search algorithms. LOCATION

Your accommodation is in a quiet area on the fringes of the village of Vassilikos and set in an olive grove with fruit trees. We have sunbeds, umbrellas and a BBQ for guests to use.

The airport is 15 kilometres and the seaport and town centre are12 kilometres away. A bus service runs several times a day between here, Gerakas (southeast end of the island) and Zakynthos Town.

The Vassilikos peninsular is reknowned for it's natural beauty and wonderful beaches. It is also a haven for a rich variety of flora and fauna.

The village centre is a 5 minute walk away. Here you will find a selection of excellent tavernas serving traditional Greek cuisine, as well as Italian and French dishes. Some have live Greek music singing cantatas, Zakynthian love songs. There are several supermarkets and gift shops in the village selling  quality souvenirs and beach requisites.

The Constantinos Pool Bar is also 150 metres away if you prefer to swim in a pool. There are lots of wonderful beaches close by, all accessible on foot or by car. Porto Zoro, Banana, and St. Nicholas. 3 kilometres away you will also find the outstandingly beautiful beaches of Daphni and Gerakas, voted the safest beach for children in The Times 2005. Both lie within the National Marine Park of Zakynthos, formed to protect the most important nesting area in the Mediterranean for the endangered loggerhead turtle, or Carretta-carretta as it's known in Greece.

Thousands of turtles make their way to Zakynthos in Spring to mate and lay their eggs. It is possible to take a boat trip to see the turtles, or watch the wardens excavate nests after hatching has taken place. This can reveal hatchlings trapped in the nest, so you can have first hand experience of their struggle to the sea and take that all important photo home.

The northern end of the island is mountainous and rugged and dotted with small villagers less influenced by tourism, excellent for walking excursions. Day trips by boat are available to the mainland, Cephalonia and also to more seclude beaches around the island. From May-October there are direct flights to Zakynthos and from Athens throughout the year. Can also be reached by ferry from the mailand with connection from Athens by coach.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Hiking: The area is perfect for hiking all year round, but in Spring and Autumn the wild flowers carpet the fields and roadsides, and the temperatures can be more condusive to long hikes, so don't limit your holiday to the Summer months.

Water sports: St. Nicholas Beach has a huge choice available from paragliding, banana and ringo rides or diving. The reef here is also excellent for snorkelling with it's underwater caves and even the chance to see octopus.

Boat trips: You can enjoy a relaxing day onboard a catamaran in the National Marine Park and learn about the turtles from the volunteers, and, hopefully, spot one in it's natural habitat. A full day trip is available to circumnavigate the island with several swim stops including one at the famous Shipwreck Beach. If you explore further afield by car, you can take a boat from Skinari (the most northerly point of the island) to visit Shipwreck Beach, and swim or snorkel in The Blue Caves. The sea here really is an unbelieveable blue and a must to see. There is also a pod of monk seals resident in the area.

Coach trips: Take a guided tour to see the beauty and diversity the island has to offer. Visit the famous craft village of Volimes, St. Dennis' monastery, and the platform perched on top of the cliffs above Shipwreck Beach. If you fancy a more exhilerating trip, why not try the jeep safari and see "hidden" Zakynthos. Explore our neighbouring island Kefalonia with it's high mountains and beautiful coastline. For those of you wanting more culture, why not visit Olympia, the home of the Olympic games.

Diving, riding, paragliding, swimming, walking and snorkeling. Zakynthos island offering museums and all other amenities. Day trips by boat are available to the mainland, Cephalonia and also to more seclude beaches around the island.

The northen end of the island is mountainous  rugged and dotted with small villagers less influenced by tourism. Excellent for walking excursions.

Google your best friend or worst enemy

From a Webmasters point of view Google can be your best friend or more likely your worst enemy they have absolutely no respect for anybody's website one minute you may be having great ranking success the next day thay can Penalize your site without any warning or any reason for weeks or months at a time completely destroying your website/business and of course there is no body to contact for any help. Google also Penalizes any website selling links but of course it's perfectly acceptable for them to sell adsense links. Like most major companies Google has gone mad with power and has a serious darkside to them. It's just a shame Microsoft and Yahoo don't pull their finger out and create a decent search engine

Painful silence

My gmail account was hacked earlier this month and I have not been able to talk to Google about it for help. I have poured through their help files and nothing - circular links, dead ends. The most help has been from weblogs posting about this, but not much help - I have filled out three forms. Nothing. I loved gmail, and I used many other products from Google, but now I have no access to them, very painful. I wish I could explain this to someone at Google in person... ~~ MarkDilley

Google is really an amazing search engine, and has pretty much anything you would want to find! Find addresses, pictures, books, news, video, and of course, just websites. What I love google for is that it doesn't just look for how many times a word or phrase is in a page, but rather it tries finding what you most likely would be looking for.
Google is also great for webmasters! From a simple search box to an actual server, Google's got it!
I recommend Google to anyone who wants to find what they're looking for.

Best search engine!

Everybody knows Google. They're a cultural phenomenon. The best things about this company are their corporate guidelines ("Don't be evil") and their commitment to taking good ideas and executing on them amazingly.

Adwords

Rant Icon ThumbsDown.png
It's strange really because Google Adwords makes you pay every time someone clicks on your ads, so the big question is how do you really know that Google is not clicking your ads?
Why does Youtube get to be displayed on Adwords and on other people's websites?
Did you know when you use Adsense on your website(s), you're getting paid to become non famous and you're getting paid to advertise other website(s). How is it that people love to pay Google when there's a question that no one can answer only Google can prove but yet has not proven.

Why is it on the most popular keyword results, massive companies get displayed and not lower level websites?
Google is not for putting small website companies on there because they won't replace the massive companies on the search results.
Google is not fair where at the top of the list on video results they have GoogleVideo.com on it Youtube.com, Yahoo video, MSN video and many more massive companies.

Google is not fair and will only display rich companies on the big search results. Questions after questions and nobody cares.
  • Posted by Anonymous on 05:17, 19 September 2007.
The reason that google shows massive companies over minor ones, is because they display them by the popularity of a web site, and the massive ones actually have things like commercials and such to help them become known. Simple as that. Also, google owns Youtube.com so they get more advertisement.
