Thanks for helping us get caught up on RC patrolling. Just a head's up, please take care when doing an OptOut -- check out the history and flag it if the deletion looks suspicious. The other day some miscreant came and deleted a couple of good pages (including a recently featured site -- 64Media.net (here's it's history) -- and it was then opted out. The website owner caught it and sent me a polite email, it's just a little embarrassing since I spent all last week working with him trying to get his page cleaned up. I was able to fix, so no harm done in the end, just figured I'd let you know. -- TakKendrick

Thank you very much for your warm welcome and kind support! I really appreciate it and I also like Moby too! :O) I saw him once in concert and he was GREAT! Very funny too! :O) And, as for your inquiry, I definitely plan on working my personal page soon too. And, I was wondering about all the categories at the bottom of my website's page. Can I also edit all of those too? They are all keywords and/or titles to some of the many videos on my Asia Entertainment Online Videos website. If I can edit them, can I add an external link/video section to the category pages and add external links to the respective video pages on my website? Please let me know about this as soon as you can. Thank you very much.

I think you might be looking for the InternalLinkingGuide - that is where we try to lay out info about external links. My guess is that external links in categories are frowned upon - the links would be best to point to the internal wiki page, where they would be able to more explain the external link's importance. As far external links on an individual wiki pages. As long as it is constructive and is good for the reader... I also like to mix in the internal links with external... but so far that is just preference.  :-)

Hi Kristina, thanks for the warm welcome. I heard about www.aboutus.org from a Portland Bar Camp meetup back in January, and I was wondering if the changes I've made to the wiki page for my blog will help increase the amount of traffic to my site? Also, will google searches result in hits to the wiki page? Will this do anything to increase my Google pagerank? Thanks. Also, I like the photo on your user page, very creative.

One more question, I corrected an incorrect capitalization on a site by moving it to another page with the same name, but with the capitalization error corrected. Will this negatively impact SEO? Is SEO case sensitive or will life continue for this page uninterrupted? Thanks again.

Need help formatting some wiki code

Instant Relief!

Thanks for responding to my message regarding changes to capitalization errors. I panicked when I saw that our other websites no longer linked to the page in question. Instead, they linked to a redirect stating the page had moved. Since I'm not the person in charge of SEO, I pictured myself living on the street holding a cardboard sign.

Although I do agree that information should be correct, I'm going to let our SEO Project Manager decide how to handle this. I'm too young for a heart attack. I will also mention to him that the page could be listed in the featured pages section.

You don't look like an unwilling participant in those hikes; it seems to me that you enjoy the attention, yet you were really trying hard not to show it :)

Yeah, "Reality's End" is mine. It wasn't AboutUs's bot that decided to capitalize it in that fashion, but rather whatever bot originally harvested my site that AboutUs re-harvested. Bots harvesting bots -- that's a recipe for disaster!

Kristina, what is the url or what do I click to update my user profile page? Also AI just copied in some information for an article but when I preview it, it doesn't show the line that I left between the paragraphs. The company involved ( VibraSlim , TheSlimCentre ) has been plagiarising my material as often as they can with very little success from admin of sites when I have contacted them in the past. Even when the offence is clear and everyone seems to have policys in place to deal with this problem. I have even placed a call to the company directly involved with no success.

I dont know what else I can do. If you can offer me some solid advice that will "effect results" please do.

I found the site looking through user referral logs for NetAliases.com. I had a visitor come from the LiveHost.net AboutUs page. I used to own LiveHost, and found the comments in the Wiki to be very accurate about current management.

This is very new to me. One thing I do want to figure out how to do, is create multiple pages within my PersonalPage, since I have many interests.

I should however be spending more of my time looking for work. It's been many years since I've held a "real" job.
