Local 1613 of the National Border Patrol Council is the exclusive representative of approximately 2000 Border Patrol Agents and support personnel assigned to eight Border Patrol stations throughout the San Diego Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol. Subsequent to the passing of the Homeland Security Act, the U.S. Border Patrol was merged with 21 other agencies into what is now known as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or as we commonly refer to it, "The Department of Homeland INSecurity".
