The idea was simple - come up with a sports line that had the names of football penalties on them. One shirt could say HOLDING,or ROUGHING, another, ILLEGAL CONTACT, etc. So the work began to create something we had not seen before. As the idea progressed, it started to take on a life of its own. Seeing these words independent from the game, the penalties were more than just sports terms. They had character. They evoked attitude. They demanded attention.
