Long Course race route as been slightly modified for 2006. Different start, more time on the exciting waters of the Strait of Georgia, same distance as in previous years: 27.2 km
At 27.2 km in length, this iron race is long enough to challenge the toughest crew and technical enough to challenge the wisest of steerspeople. While our waves are not huge open ocean monsters, the coastal BC conditions are extremely variable, renown for their 5 m tidal differences and associated currents, and the Straight of Georgia can provide relentless waves. The circular course features upwind and downwind paddling and incredible scenery.
